It’s not often that October in Cleveland is filled with energy and enthusiasm. The weather here really does take a turn any way the wind blows. And the sports teams really do reflect that but the winds are blowing our way again. This past Saturday afternoon Cleveland’s most loyal and galvanized fans showed up and helped propel their Guardians into the American League Championship Series.
Matthew Boyd had five strikeouts and put on the type of performance needed to give the Guardians that extra edge to out hit the Tigers. The fans got louder with every strike thrown. The rally towels flew igniting the crowd uproar. The fans were hungry for a victory but more importantly,The Guardian's appetite was awakened.
And that's what this article is about. By now you certainly know the outcome. You have seen the highlights of the Grand Slam delivered by Lane Thomas and the thunderous pandemonium that erupted at Progressive Field.
Total strangers high fived themselves from that moment on and throughout every clutch play. The team and the fans never looked back. That was the obvious game changer and the moment Believeland was reborn. Loud chants were heard on the streets as the fans emptied out of the stadium and on to Prospect and E4th. Cars were honking in unison in the parking garages and onto the streets.
We're ready for another shot at a World Series Championship. This team has been resilient and relentless all year long. The fans have responded in kind. We believe in this team, the same way we believe in this city. We Stand For The Land.
